Poppets Pre-School

Poppets Pre School Newsletter May 2017

I can hardly believe we are approaching our final half term of this academic year. We aim to take every opportunity to be outside (sun lotion and a hat is really useful) and get up to as much mischief as possible. We thought an overview of diary dates and activities we have planned might help you keep up with us!

Friday 26th May trip to Alice in Wonderland  (opposite Hurn airport )

Whilst you are all out having fun with Lisa and Mandy, Rachel, Micky and I will be welcoming our new intake children at our open afternoon.

We realise parents of new intake siblings cannot be in two places at once.  All new intake children will be invited for play visits the last week of June and first week of July.  We look forward to having a chat then..

Monday 29th May to Mon 5th June   INCLUSIVE   Half term holiday

Sharing Information

Please remember key-workers and myself are always available to discuss your child’s progress with you at any stage of their learning journey through Poppets. We welcome an exchange of information in order to best meet your child’s needs and offer activities that enhance and develop their CURRENT interests.

Please  continue to update your child’s Tapestry account adding learning and skills seen at home or  pictures of what your child enjoys and adventures they have with you.

Transitions to ‘Big School’

Tapestry accounts for children LEAVING POPPETS will remain available to you

ONLY UNTIL Midnight on the 14th JULY then Jo will magic them into a CD gift for you.

Key workers and myself will be asking to see all parents of children leaving Poppets this summer in order to complete transition documents. (If you would like to add a photo of your child for their new teacher please bring one to our meeting)

After the half term we will finalise assessments and recordings of your child’s next steps ready to share with you.  Please look out for our  appointment posters to complete transition documents.

Parents of children returning to Poppets in September are also  invited to meet with their child’s key worker to discuss progress and share their child’s current interests.

 Leavers Photo

Over the next few weeks we shall be collating photo’s for our “Group leavers photo” as a reminder for your children of their friends at Poppets. This will be included on your CD.

I hate to end with bad news however I need to advise you that fees will increase to £12 per 3 hour session from September.

All children receive 15 hours free childcare the term AFTER their third birthday, don’t forget to check if you qualify for the 30 hours childcare funding. Some families will qualify for 2 year old funding its worth checking out!!

Term resumes on Thursday 7th September ( Wednesday will be a staff planning day)

Best wishes and our thanks for your continued support
